SHE HATES HIM.

By all the Lechers of Antiquity, what is a god-Emperor to do when his chosen mate is caught on tape speculating that he is a brute and a bore in bed? Renowned for his sexual prowess all over the galaxy, Prince Tarrant-Arragon has a reputation for depravity to keep up, even if the reality of his private life is a far different story. His personal inclination would be to woo his intended with charm and wit, but politics and Tigron tradition call for abduction followed by swift consummation. Embarking on a skilled seduction, Tarrant-Arragon feels confident in his ability to take his queen. But he hasn't counted on the unpredictability of his little Earthling or the startling fact that she would make a pawn of his own heart.

"another hot and captivating episode of the rut-rageous Djinns"
For some, life is a game. In past politics and relationships, Martia-Djulia and Djetthro-Jason have both been pawns. Now a new match begins and the objective is Marriage.

Tarrant-Arragon, god-Emperor of Tigron (see FORCED MATE) has spared Prince Djetthro-Jason from execution for treason on the conditions that J-J accepts a new identity and marry the emperor's sister. Djetth cannot let her know his true identity; so he must not only win a woman for the first time in his life, but to do it, he must fight against memories of her true love ... himself!

Martia-Djulia has often been sacrificed as a pawn for the Empire, but this latest betrayal is too much to accept! At her mating ceremony she learns that it is NOT her true love presented as her mate and her anger unleashes a unique Djinn-power as she refuses the match.

At every opportunity the Emperor has placed them together and at a loss for patience, has stranded them together on an island. Although they believe themselves marooned, Martia and Djetth are being protected by the emperor's warship orbiting the planet. It is a protection soon needed as other forces gather playing a deadly game. Their continued existence not only depends on survival skills Jason learned while on Earth, but on decisions others are making in other parts of the galaxy.

For those of us who have been impatiently waiting, Ms Cherry delivers another hot and captivating episode of the rut-rageous Djinns of the Tiger Empire. If you need a helpful family tree and character list, there is one on author's web site which will help if you haven't read MATING NET and FORCED MATE. You can still enjoy this story as a first read, but you will want to read them for more details.

Martia and Djetth's island interlude has some scenes that those who enjoy reality shows will appreciate. Woven through the story are updates of what is happening through the galaxy. The political intrigue that brought them to this point continues and we learn more of other Djinn whose ambitions endanger their lives. Martia and Djetth develop into likable individuals instead of adversaries as the story unfolds and reader has further insight into their thoughts and feelings.

With intriguing twists and turns, action encounters, entertaining dialog mixed with sexual innuendo and hot romance, this is a book that you won't put down until the end.

"An enjoyable science fiction romance"
After his child bride dies in childbirth, Djohn-Kronos, god- Emperor of Trigon, is determined to steal his brother's intended bride. Djohn-Krronos thinks that it is his right to do as he pleases. Therefore, he tricks Helispeta into marrying him by pretending to be his twin, Devoran-Vitan. When Helispeta realizes that she has married the evil brother, she plots her escape.

For such a short story, MATING NET vividly describes the alien society, that Ms. Cherry created. The characters are fully flushed out, especially the evil God-Emperor. The only thing that I found lacking about the story was the interaction between the hero and heroine. Their love would have been more convincing, if more time had been given to their interactions.

All in all, MATING NET is an enjoyable science fiction romance. I recommend it.

FORCED MATE

bullet"Great story with a twist on the Alien abduction Theme!"
If you decide to read FORCED MATE, get ready to have your nose glued to the pages for a little while, as I couldn't put this story down!

Prince Tarrant-Aragon is the god-Emperor of Tigron, equating to the entire galaxy. (Yes, this means he rules us too, we just don't know it!) No one tells him no. So, when he discovers the only woman who could even possibly be his Queen, hidden away on the little planet of Earth, he goes to get her. The only problem is that his perfect mate has been raised to pray for his demise and even worse trained to be able to kill him should she have the opportunity or kill herself if she fails. The solution -- make Djinni fall in love with him, before she finds out who he really is!

Djinni is automatically wary of the man who shows up at her doorstep and claims to be a member of the Saurian Knights. However, when he is able to perform the secret handshake, she ignores her instincts, and gets into his limo to perform the final test, the toast to Tarrant- Arragons death. If only the man hadn't made her heartbeat accelerate or have sex on the brain when she tried to eavesdrop, she might have been able to prevent herself from getting kidnapped! Now, she only has to escape before her future husband, JJ, finds out she was ruined by an An'Koori!

Rowena Beaumont Cherry has written a fascinating romance that blends some of our current "Earth" history with customs from all over the galaxy. I especially enjoyed the misunderstanding that Tarrant let Djinni maintain regarding sex. Then there is Madam Tarra, a fortuneteller who lives on the Pleasure Moon of Eurydyce, a very important secondary character that I really thought intriguing!

While I truly felt sorry for Djinni as she kept trying to escape and find ways to thwart her unknown kidnapper, (who she named Tigger) I thought she was quite resourceful, too. I also really enjoyed the fact that she wasn't going through shock of getting kidnapped by aliens, because she was one herself. It was a neat twist on the alien abduction theme.

"Tigger" on the other hand... he had me cracking up. Add the typical male arrogance to the "God-Emperor" title...he was SO doomed because he (justifiably) wasn't being honest with Djinni about who he was. I loved reading about how Tarrant had to learn everything the hard way. Just because he had so much power and was used to everyone jumping when he said jump he was out of his league with Djinni. She thought he was a nobody, and therefore beneath her; it was so funny! I think it was a very humbling (and needed) experience for him.

Then we add the mix of the unknown enemy -- the Saurian Knights and Djinni's fiancé JJ that Tarrant is chomping at the bit to figure out who is. FORCED MATE has a little bit of everything: lots of action, deception and forgiveness, plenty of sexual tension and different alien cultures to contemplate. This was such a fun book to read that I highly recommend!

bullet"Power and politics are their world, but love may change this Chess Game of life"
Prince Tarrant-Aragon, the god-Emperor of Tigron, discovers the only woman who could be his Mate has been hidden on the planet Earth. He is all-powerful and ruthless and has come to acquire her. That his Earthling limo driver dares to make sly observations along the way was unheard of -- but intriguing. Not being a foolish human, Greg, a cynical mercenary known as Grievous, tactfully keeps his mouth shut about things like the little miss naming the boss 'Tigger'.

Djinni's father is the Saurian Dragon, leader of the Saurian Knights and she has trained extensively. Feeling secure while hiding on Earth, she has been betrothed to 'JJ' since childhood and is an integral part of a plan to enthrone him as the new god-Emperor of Tigron. Although she is suspicious when first approached, the stranger appeared to be a Saurian Knight; so she followed trustingly. Too late Djinni finds she has been abducted. Despite several escape attempts, she is now on Tigger's ship and in danger of breaking her Saurian vows.

Djinni does not realize that the poem she read was actually a wedding ceremony and that Tigger is the prince she has been taught to dread. He was forced to abduct her and wed her, but Tarrant-Aragon does not want a battle- ground for a marriage as his father and grandfather before him. As Prince of Tigron he is considered all-powerful, but how to make his half-Earthling wife accept him? Her lack of respect and different perception of him and their universe is something he finds perplexing and frustrating. He hopes to win her heart, but who can he go to for such an unheard of advice? Among his choices is the Earthling limo driver, who has been bold enough to voice unasked for opinions but declares women are difficult.

There is a good balance between action and romance with subtle and outright humor adding to the main plot instead of distracting. The political intrigue brings unexpected plot twists that will keep you guessing who is on what side. The characters stay true and the changes as their relationship grows are believable.

In chess the term 'Forced Mate' is where the two kings race to make a pawn their queen. So the title is fitting and through-out the story there are several chess references. You will not find Djinni a mere pawn, though she is naïve and Tigger takes advantage of that to force changes in her life. Will his desire to have her love brings about changes that will be felt throughout their worlds and stop a revolution? This futuristic romance is one that you won't want to miss!

KNIGHT’S FORK

bulletElectra-Djerroldina (Prince Tarrant-Arragon's older sister) was mated to the youngest Volnoth prince to seal an alliance between Tigron and Volnoth and children did not matter until his older brothers died. What most do not acknowledge is that only a Djinn can make her pregnant; so she is on the hunt for a sperm donor to save the Volnoth Alliance and remain with the husband she has come to care for.

Prince Djarrhett (Rhett), son of the Saurian Dragon, has taken a vow of chastity and is appalled by Electra's offer. That Rhett has attracted Princes Ellectra's attention was noticed and misinterpreted by Prince Tarrant-Arragon who believes his older sister guilty of body-treason and sees only one way to save her life. He plots to strand Rhett and Electra on Earth together.

In short, both Rhett and Electra are "between a rock and a hard place" with interfering relatives and political agendas which make for a rollicking story jam-packed with suspense, humor and romantic conflicts. Ms Cherry includes a provocative turn of phrase which will bring a smile while reading this romp through her Djinn God universe.

Like all the books in this series, the title is based on a chess move or situation. The story has
more Chess moves and clarifications than previous stories which I found enlightening and easily
explained as the plot unfolds. I've always heard politics are a chess game and found it interesting to see it spelled out in this fantasy other-world.
